YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Fall Practice Updates
« on: August 11, 2015, 05:52:33 PM »
I was down at practice yesterday and I've noticed a huge difference already between the Wolford regime and the current one. Pelini and staff are teachers with minimal yelling and screaming. To be honest, Pelini doesn't even wear/use a whistle at practice and just kind of observes. As for the players, our defensive line is deep, quick and explosive. I like the potential of Isaiah Scott at receiver as well as Harvin.

Regardless of your thoughts about Strollo and whether or not the Pelini hire is a good/bad one, the least everyone can do is give him a chance. Let's support this team no matter who were playing. I get some people are upset about our scheduling. As someone who has lived out of state for the past 6 years, I am envious of everyone who has the ability to go to games. Because to me, there is nothing like a game-day at Stambaugh Stadium. Beat Pittsburgh!

What a home run hire by Strollo, a possible turning point for our program to get some excitement back. Understand he didn't win a championship at Nebraska but 9 wins in each of his seven seasons is really impressive. 9 wins at YSU and we're hosting a home game, maybe more. This just goes to show the old saying is true, there truly is no place like home. Welcome back, Coach Pelini and here's to many wins and hopes of getting #5.

Undoubtedly I want Bo Pelini for all of the obvious reasons but if we don't hire him, I'll support whoever our choice is just like the true fans will. I understand right now for majority of fans it'll be a big disappointment if we don't get Pelini. Beat Pittsburgh...again!

To be successful they must hire someone with experience in the MVFC.... No tOSU assistants or homer......

That's a tremendous statement and one I completely agree with. Similar to women's basketball with Barnes from UWGB.

I hope today was the nail in the coffin for Wolford and his circus. This guy is a complete and utter joke. Go back to being a run game coordinator.

I would not be surprised one bit if we lost by at least 4 touchdowns next week and maybe 5.

This team has quit and there's nothing more than can be said. They looked demoralized last week in the 2nd half and they look like they do not want to be here today at all. Hopefully Strollo takes notice and make the right decision to get rid of this coaching staff.

I completely agree with all of you. This team is not a playoff team and have flat out quit.

Yeah montgomery. Keep running the same 5-6 plays. It's working real well for ya bud.

Montgomery is clueless, he has no clue what he is doing.

Watching the game on espn3 and we just look lethargic and do not want to be here at all. Indiana State is terrible and we are keeping them in this game.

I was at the game yesterday and we just got beat by a better football team. Unfortunately with the loss, we don't single handily control our own fate anymore unless for some unknown reason, North Dakota State collapses at home against us granted we win this week.

I am extremely pleased with Wells thus far and understand he will make FRESHMAN mistakes. Will he struggle against our remaining opponents? He very well might but no QB let alone player is perfect. Paladin, I'm still searching for your Hall of Fame plaque or write up for either dominating a D-1 sport as a coach or player but I'm having trouble finding it. Your Coyotes will have their hands full.

Here's the Eric Wolford we all know. This guy should be in the Hall of Fame soon with his brilliance.
