Former Youngstown State football student-athletes Nate Adams and Donald D'Alesio were among an impressive group named to the 2015 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced on Wednesday.

Great Job guys!!  For almost all college athletes, they will make a living in something other than their sport.  These two both "get it" (as to the VAST majority of YSU student athletes!)

I'm plenty old enough to remember Pres. Lyndon Johnson so "Lady Birds" is OUT for me!
I also am not a Pittsburgh fan and so Pens is out for me too! I thing Quins is fine.
Go Guins!
And REMEMBER IT'S ONLY 129 DAYS UNTIL YSU FOOTBALL KICKS OFF!!

Want to get an eye full of a tennis facility, go to the Purdue site.  This is best I've seen!  We might be good on the court, but hosting isn't in the cards against this facility!  Good luck YSU Women's Tennis Team!!

Go Lady Quins!
(Is that appropriate?  I HATE to be politically incorrect. Penguins isn't a gender defining term like "bull" for instance)
Maybe we should say "Go Sandras!"
Let me just say "Go Guins!"

I have far too much respect for your overall intelligence to pooh-paw your comments, but on the other hand, I am completely missing your point.  How do professional expectations following college change the competitive balance between 1A & 1AA?  I CERTAINLY "GET IT" regarding coaching and the extreme value it has to program success, but the professional expectation effect is lost on me??
If your point is the "bigger schools" get the better athletes, and since they can't make money at women's track they don't care where were they to school, that removes the individual competitive drive from the equation and I would challenge that.
We have MONTHS before YSU football is relevant again, so if it’s not too much trouble, I’d be interested in further explanation.
Thanks  and thanks for all you do on this blog!

Congratulations! For all the naysayers, the past two academic years have been stellar for our athletic department in terms of winning now double digit conference championships! Future looks strong in many of these sports.

Go YSU!
Not sure I remember so many naysayers with women's sports, but whatever, great job for YSU athletic department overall!  I went to YSU when we were completive in MBB and latter we were VERY competitive in FB, but never in women's events and never with the broad spectrum as we see today.  I bet we assume the YSU President is all in for football, but I bet he enjoys this overall success a lot!

I don't think there is any conspiracy underway, but it does appear YSU is doing far better at women's athletics than it is with the men!?!?!?!?
Women’s golf, tennis and BB are all doing better than the men, but hopefully the men can pull even with a playoff season in FB!

Did a quick search and most of what I see on this is out of Nebraska and they are mostly sour grapes on anything related to Pelini or Brown.  Only Youngstown story that showed up was this blog!!
Sounds like they may be having $$$ issues getting Brown signed, but Bo sounds like losing him wouldn't be a big surprise at this point.  Got a couple months to resolve at this point.

Wish brown would have stayed. Great coach, great principles.

Agreed.  And regardless of what Bo says, he wins here and in 3 years he gets a call from a SEC school, it would be nice to have an assistant head coach to step up, but what ya gonna do?

I remember so often during those days turning to my brother at halftime and saying "we're only down 7, Tressel will figure this one out."  And it seemed he always did!
I told our tailgate group who was worried about  JT interfering with the football program, that the opposite would be a bigger concern.  I have an open bet that in his time president: the enrollment will go up, the graduation rate will go up, and the endowment fund will double, because that’s just who he is.

A huge taste of irony there.

That's pretty much the definition of irony!  Liberty should be good setting for his, how shall I phrase this, "lack of political correctness".   Personally I'm OK with his approach, but probably better off at Liberty than a typical bastion of liberal politics that is a public university.

Agreed.  Not making playoffs would be big disapointment.  Although starting out with 2 "sure loses" doesn't make it easy.  (Pitt and NDSU)
When you don't have depth injuries can be huge problem.  Davis very athletic, but no Wells passing and this is a passing game.  Also Ruiz, Nwadiogbu, Derek Rivers, Andrew Williams would be HUGE holes to fill.

1AA, not quite ready to go as far as having the best players "seldom", but I did watch them play for the national championship 6 times and thought we had the best players on the field only once in those 6 games (1994)
