Long time follower of the board, here. Coincidentally I'll be in Dallas, TX for the Holiday season (with my girlfriend's family) as Notre Dame is on winter break. My dad (Ysu grad), girlfriend (A&M Aggie grad), and myself will be at the game! I cannot be more excited, as I remember my first traverse to a Natty game back in '99 to Chattanooga, TN, at age 8. I've been waiting for this day for 17 years! Go Guins!

Congratulations on the Penguins making it to Frisco! I hope the MVFC is represented well and wins it all.
I have seen concerns on the opponents fan boards about hotel availability. There will be plenty of hotel rooms available within 5-10 minutes of the stadium in Frisco now that NDSU is out. There is no need to stay anywhere downtown Dallas or such.
For folks that will be seeking tickets, let it be known that face value on most of the seats is $75 so plan accordingly if you need to buy outside of the university allotment. FCS.flashseats.com has the greatest quantity of tickets available. (If anyone is interested in buying the NCAA Experience hospitality tickets/wristbands, please PM me. I have a couple to sell. These get you into the stadium earlier and gain entrance to the club lounge/free food, etc).
For all folks planning to attend...just go and enjoy the atmosphere. Quality fans make a quality experience.

I wish I could go, but mommy duties, and expenses do not allow me(we are going to DisneyWorld in March). I will see if hubby will agree to a game day party here at our house.
I was at the NC game in 1999. My boyfriend(now husband) went with me. The week before the NC game in 1999 I used him as a punching bag during our comeback against Florida A&M.

Hello and Congrats to all YSU fans from this Bison fan. First time poster here (so be gentle). Didn't know where to post this so, Moderators, you can move this to the appropriate thread. Have a stadium Hospitality ticket and wristband I would like to sell. It involves a great seat Sect 108 row 22 seat 18 and excess to the River Club which is located on the west side of the stadium. Food service will begin at 8:30 am and run until 10:30 am Light snacks will be available during halftime. There is more info and I will send you (FED EX) the ticket, wristband, and cover letter from the NCAA if you decide to buy this ticket. I live in Sioux Falls, SD and, again, this is a great seat and there's great food and a cash bar involved, plus a place to warm up in the River Club if the weather is nasty.........it was chilly last year, but nothing compared to Cheney, Washington. You can call me at 701 471 8627. I'm not familiar with this site so I don't know if I'll get a PM. Dennis

I am not a moderator but you seem to be doing fine for a "rookie" on the blog, and I will forward your information to our "travel coordinator". Great run for you guys, and it would have been great for an All-MVFC final, but all good things must come to an end. We are a whole bunch better (even with the suspensions) since we played you, and I would have liked our chances in a rematch.

Penguin fan unable to use 2 hospitality wristbands that gain admission to the River Club which opens a half hour before the rest of the stadium. Free local pickup in Youngstown area or will ship. Can sell for $175 (face value $220 for the pair). Will negotiate.
Amenities include pregame meal, snacks at halftime, cash-bar, private restrooms. Can remain in area during game or go out to seats and come and go as you wish. Perfect for any potential inclement weather.

Well, I just got confirmation my vacation request was approved!!!! I can go to the game!!! I just need to find and pay for my flight. According to kayak, cheapest one is 377 round trip. Hey Yo, I just looked at Spirit. $225 roundtrip from CAK to DFW. outbound is a direct. I started taking Spirit to CAK when Allegiant dropped service to YNG from SWFL. Spirit is an a la carte airline that'll nickle and dime you if u allow it, but if u r frugal u can save big.

Hmm... I found that same stuff but when I go through the whole thing to book that exact set on spirit it gives me a total of $501.18 with tax. I found cheaper on kayak. The price they are showing is each flight. So the first flight is like 225 and the second flight (return flight) is about the same price. Add taxes and fees and the price for the total spirit flight is 501... dang. I appreciate the help though Nation. I was really hoping that they did have it as described, would have loved 225 round trip price...

Flights were cheap until the people with corporate sponsors tickets booked all of the flights.

Thanks to everyone trying to help me. As an update, I am going with a party of three (including myself) to frisco! Flights are booked now. My work gave me Friday and Saturday off, but I actually work Sunday night still, so I had to come back Sunday. My flight was $410 round trip out of Canton Akron. Leaves thursday night at 8pm but has one stop with a 36 minute layover. Arriving in Dallas on Friday at 12 am. So I'll be in Dallas a day early! I just need to buy my tickets to the game and hotel now! fb ;D

TAILGATING
Tailgating is a longstanding college football tradition and will be allowed in stadium parking lots. To ensure that fans have a safe and enjoyable experience, spectators are asked to adhere to the following regulations on game day, unless specifically authorized to do otherwise by the NCAA:
• Possession and consumption of alcohol in the Stadium parking areas is subject to the laws and regulations of the State of Texas and/or City of Frisco. Police will patrol these areas and enforce all applicable laws.
• No kegs or other common source containers.
• No tents larger than 10’ x 10’ and must be located in front of a parked car or within the four spaces allocated to a recreational vehicle.
• Tailgating activities that take up vacant parking spaces or interfere with pedestrian or car traffic flow within or around a parking lot are prohibited.
• Parking permit holders are responsible for functions they host in their parking spaces.
• Open flames other than grills are not permitted.
• Pop-up tents and canopies must be secured or dismantled if left unattended.
• Lots open at 7 a.m. All spectators are encouraged not to come before this time as traffic lineups will not be permitted. Parking lots will stay open after the game, but all vehicles must be off property by 11:30 p.m. that night.
• All cars in the stadium parking lots must keep their parking pass displayed at all times, or be subject to towing.
• No corporate signage is permitted at any time unless prior written approval by the NCAA has been obtained.
• No couches or upholstered furniture.
• Spectators who want to watch television or use other entertainment devices that require electricity are allowed to do so as long as they provide their own power and video sources.
• No outside food vendors are allowed without the permission of the NCAA or Toyota Stadium.
• Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Fans headed to Texas for the game are invited to YSU’s official tailgate party at Tailgate Town in Toyota Stadium, Northeast Terrace, Section 133. It starts at 9 a.m. Central. A game ticket is required to get in.
YSU alumni, friends and family will meet at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse in Plano, Texas the night before the championship.
RSVP to either or both Texas events by calling 330-941-2136 or emailing jmleviseur@ysu.edu.
YSU is encouraging fans to wear red and businesses to display red all week leading up to the game in support of the Penguins.

A few of us are at the Comfort Inn near the Plano Medical Center. However, I'd like to make it downtown at some point. I have reviewed the visitors guides for Dallas and noticed a the "Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse" as well as a bar called the "OE Penguin", we obviously know who the city is rooting for. If that isn't enough, "Penguin Days at the Dallas Zoo" started Sunday after we beat EWU and runs through the end of February. They sure have a celebration lined up for us!

I got on Chick Fil A website and ordered several trays to be picked up 6:30 AM in Frisco...will meet you in the lot PH! What lot are you thinking - Red or Blue...Blue is on opposite side where team will come in at 8:30.

We will plan on the Blue Lot on the east side of the stadium. Two large lots on the east side where we will be aiming for the center or southern most side of the Lot directly behind the visitors side of the stadium (we will be trying to find some grassy area to pitch our tents).

I believe they are expecting a big crowd. Which is good for the valley. Most people couldn't afford to travel down there so at least have something local that keeps the citizens interested.
