For the record we dropped our season Basketball tickets this year.  Reason was the crappy cupcake division 3 schedule for Nov and Dec last year and again this year.  Why pay full price for these types of games?  Not winning league championships is not reason we left.  Too late for us now as we are committing our dollars somewhere else.

Still keeping FB tickets and tailgating, but I can see us dropping these in a few years if we don't improve and continue with the 3 high school pre-league games.

I understand Strollo's strategy in trying to get early wins too qualify for post season, but these cupcakes do not build the necessary toughness needed for full season competition.

Those were some really fun times.  Road trips were a blast.  Those road warriors knew how to treat others and appreciated the fine coaching Tressel and his group gave to the boys.  In those days YSU owned the second half of the game.

We have a mentally special needs person in our family.  Brain damaged at birth and then hit by car 30 years later.  To call anyone a "retard" is offensive to me and my wife and should be to any person with a sense of decency.  People that use terms like this should be required to spend time working with special needs children and then maybe, just maybe, these people would understand how lucky they are to have opportunity to live a "normal" life and then use that life in a positive manner.

Really amazes me how posters here can get so carried away over games that in the end do nothing to change that posters life one iota.

Rant over and everyone have a nice day.  Enjoy what you have.

5 or so years ago I had a conversation with Ron Strollo on the MAC and 2 money games.  Firts thing was that to join the MAC we needed another $7 million and no place to find that kind of money.  Didn't talk about whether they would want us or not.  Second thing.  He had worked with Akron for a second money game but they couldn't agree nor find a financial solution acceptable to both schools.  Ron also felt that 2 money games with potential 2 losses would really hurt any play off chances.  The goal then as now is to get back to the play offs.  As far as only 5 home games that would be a big hurt finacially and the supporters of the lodges would not support a 5 game schedule.  This was 5 years ago, but I think really nothing has changed.

Have now stopped my kids from reading this forum.  No reason for personal bashing and F bombs.  Some people just need to grow up or leave.

Thanks for posting.  Since we lost our dogs we have no need for the newspaper so stopped delivery.

What I wrote, when I wrote it, is exactly how I felt.  Am I glad the team has found a way?  Yes.  Do I spend a lot of time on things I cannot control and let effect my life?  Hell no.  YSU sports falls in this category.  For personal reasons this appears to be last year I will buy YSU Basketball season tickets.  Nothing to do with if they win or lose.  Simply more important things for us to do.

Admit we left at the 28 minute mark in second half.  Went to find if the police were around as there was a terrible mugging in the gym.  Refs let game get out of hand right away.  Very physical.  Advantage to Detroit.  First game we had seen since November as we were out of town all December.  We belong to Court Side Penguin Club at $550 per year.  We do this for some winter entertainment and assures us of being able to get tail gate pass for football.  This will be last year we do this.  Find another way to assure ourselves of tailgate purchase.  Last night set YSU basketball back another 2 years from an attendance standpoint.

Anyone get their season ticket package yet.   First home game Nov 16 and we haven't received them yet.  Guess that's pretty much on schedule for YSU ticket office, unfortunately.  :(

Great Game.  When Brandi left with the 4th foul Kenya took over.  She made a nice drive to the basket for lay in almost right away and then started the 3 pointers.  I believe this could be a turning point in the program as the team accelerated their play without Brandi on the court.  All the players stepped up behind Kenya.  The Hill/Martin stigma is gone.  It's games like this that creates belief in themselves.  With a decent finish to the season for both the men and women we could have 2 Horizon League coaches of the year.
