Where do the girls stand with recruiting?? Are we making a move up with the quality level of recruits as a whole?

The "Everybody Gets a Participation Trophy" Tourney is coming to Youngstown!!

Are they inviting YSU Intramural Champions too? They deserve a trophy too. They worked hard too. Their feelings shouldn't get hurt.

Love Mangino. Great coach. Local guy.

I'm just wondering how he passes his "key man" insurance physicals every year.

I need the phone number of his physician and insurance agent.

It is now official.  Congratulations to Coach Boldon and Brandi on two well-deserved honors.  I just hope that Brandi can play Wednesday evening.

Yep!!

Ditto. Earned it!

You two Einstein's got any ideas as to where the money comes from? University continues to cut athletic budget. Care to contribute?

Money is not a problem just borrow it like President Panic and let the newborns worry about it.

Classic  ;).....and TRUE :'( >:(

Yet another parochial disappointment

Anybody want to start a list?

1.  Taylor Hill

Please continue...........................................................

I stand corrected on my spelling. You have no idea how long I struggled on that word!!

And I still got it wrong. LOL

LOL Lechter... ;D

To the contrary, just goes to show how good the parochials are......winning state titles with only "really good"....not super great (Harding) athletes. Harding churns out more D1 talent than anyone......and they win...."bumpkus"!!

That would be BUPKUS----no M  and you make a semi-valid point.

Tells you what All-Star teams mean. An honorable mention pick gets invited to the combine in front / instead of the 1st and 2nd team guys in front of him (unless they were underclassmen).

Good for him. Wish him the best.

Coaches "flying" out of here as quickly as they can. I guess the "shot" of winning a National Title at Kansas or Kansas State was too much to turn down.

What is the turnover in coaching staffs at Northern Iowa, NDSU...and the other top programs in 1-AA? (I still call it 1-AA and always will)

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Braylon Heard

Heard played quite a bit on offense as an I back. He was in the rotation all-season. Not big enough to be an every down back, but is " big play guy" if he gets just a small opening. Hope he thinks hard about YSU.

I had the "unique" opportunity to coach with Coach a few years ago.

He bent over backward to help me. I will never forget that. He too, has forgotten more football ( especially on defense),

than many of his colleagues (and detractors),.......will ever know, in their lifespan.

He proved that this year!. AGAIN !!

He is a class dude. I wish for Coach nothing but the best.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: Scalzo's Vindy Article
« on: November 29, 2012, 12:52:27 AM »
Scalzo, while "wordy" on occassion......is as good a sportswriter as there is. He identifys the topic, and states truth as he sees it. He gives praise when earned, and criticism when deserved.

Both in an appropriate way. For a young guy, he shows maturity in that respect.

He is not a lackey.....for any school in the Valley.

Some in the Vindy....can't claim the same.
