On a positive note, the Youngstown State Football letters in steel look very awesome. I want to get something like that for myself. Hubbard Eaglewear used to make stuff for the team, and they don't make that shirt. Did YSU start using a different sportwear provider locally?
Picture?  Haven't seen shirt in question.

Where the "heck" are the hosts of this site?  This thread is straying a LONG way from UIW and football!!!

BTW, UIW peat Prairie View A&M 40-6  They averaged 42 a game last season but only 40.5 so far this one!
That QB looks like another Ken Anderson to me, who for years was called "Ken Anderson, from tiny Augustana College" Somehow, I don't think we've heard the last of "Cameron Ward from tiny Incarnate Word".

Strollo and company hired a  HC who has zero coordinator experience at the D1 level yet is expected to turn this thing around .  Not to mention he has to compete with 6 MAC schools for recruits within OHIO.   No need to worry though we have Petersons 20 year old son as the recruiting coordinator.  I could go on and on but have lost my interest after 20 years. If u don't think there is a problem look no further than this forum where only 20 posts were  made today after playing Michigan State.

The reason nobody is on this board posting anymore is because everyone is sick and tired of the cynical remarks and negative comments.  I'm about to jump off myself.  Who wants to read comments after two games that DP is no good, the team is a joke, no talent, recruiting sucks, Strollo sucks, Tressel sucks, YSU sucks...Youngstown at its finest...whoaaa is me...what have you done for me lately, steel is coming back, wear a mask - don't wear a mask.

GO GUINS
Amen!  We were sitting at the patio bar at the country club after tennis and my friend was going on and on about how terrible everything is, YSU football, the Indians/Guardians, the POTUS, etc etc.  I said, "Mike, we made more money in the marked that at work this year, we are sitting at the club eating and drinking and talking about grandkids athletic endeavors and frankly, I'm thinking how lucky I am, not how UNLUCKY I am.   Damn it, the  cup is never full, but it is a damn sight short of empty! Frankly Crenshaw's performance in these first two games should be the start of a legend and all we are about is Phillips/administration/staff/player bashing.

Beau Brungard has committed to YSU. Following in dad's footsteps.
something depressing about watching the dad play and now the son play.  I think I'll cancel my tickets when the grandkids take the field!
Good Luck Beau!

This crap about beating up DP for losing to MSU is depressing.  This is his first real year as coach as EVERYTHING last year was screwed up. (for those of you that forgot or missed it, we had a world wide pandemic)  I'm not sure he's the right guy, but Luke Fickel and Jim Tressel do, and they know more about football that all on this thread!
We gave MSU a better game than Arron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers gave Saints, anybody saying all is lost in GB?
We are 1-1, did ANYBODY think we would be any different after 2 games?
Frankly I feel more encouraged after the lost to MSU than I did after the win against UIW.   Certainly the MSU WR's were a ton faster than our DB's but so have many others including Terry Robiskie at OSU (a game I saw) and the guys at WVU.  Guys go to 1AA because they just don't have 1A size or 1A speed. Yes 1AA guys occasionally make the NFL, but as a general rule, size or speed help the decision process.  Now the the season starts.  Crenshaw has some serious game time under his belt, we have more wins than last season and the
check book is full.
Time to see have we are going to stack up in the MVFC!  Most on this site are correct, we don't have enough good players, but you gotta start somewhere. DP didn't leave the cupboard bare, that a$$ Pelini did.  Give coach Phillips a chance.

Coaching is a big issue.  The offensive, (and I use this term advisedly!) "game plan" reminded me of my under 125# grandson's team.  Watch the video of UIW's pass patterns vs. ours. One was youth league and one big time football worthy.  It was a pitiful mismatch.

Been a season ticket holder since 83. Done. Will tailgate to have fun. Will not go into another game until the Mooney faction is gone. I’m done.
I don't get this entirely.  Domestic violence is about crime not football ticket sales.  You don't do or not so something because of the tickets he may or may not sell.
Second, I don't get the Cardinal Mooney connection.  I have employees, and heaven forbid, one of them commits domestic violence, you think I, or my business, should be punished?  You guys Taliban or something? For decades Mooney has been the preeminent HS football program in the valley,  YSU is the preemminat 1AA football program in Ohio, of course there will be a bunch of well coached, but less that 1A talent coming out of Mooney and YSU is a logical place for them to play. This is a good and natural thing, why does it need to be severed because of a A-Hole criminal who happens to be a coach?  Domestic violence happens in EVERY walk of life, every day. Yes it needs addressed, but it isn't a "sports" issue, it's a societal issue.

Dude---you are quoting from something from two years ago.  That guy's comment has nothing to do with the domestic violence charges.  It was entirely about the football program stinking in 2018 and 2019.
18 & 19?  wasn't that also 2 and 3 years ago?

This is a really good schedule move.  Too bad we couldn't get the "back to back" in back to back seasons. but still a great matchup.

We need a power back. Right now we have too much lightning, but no thunder.
We've needed a powder back for about 10+ years!  I don't understand not being able to find a 220# kick to get a yard when we need it.
HOWEVER the way football is played to day, we DO NOT have too much lightning!

Not to mention Michigan State 38 Northwestern 21
A friend asked me how the season looked and I told him, "we are a lot better offensively than spring, but I think 1-9 might be in the offing."  WTF only 10 games?  We quit in the spring, were we afraid we'd quit on game 11 or 12?

I was listening to Wkbn AM while driving home 15 minutes ago.
Bob Hanson called in and suggested that. Crenshaw would start at QB for tomorrow’s game.
I thought this was a forgone conclusion?  Last year we had 2 camps, one for Waid because obviously Craycraft wasn't the "one".  AND a Craycraft camp that thought Waid couldn't play.  Weill, two things, First, they were both right.  Second I believe Crenshaw is the highest rated recruit in YSU football history.  You're going to live and die with DC, that's for sure.  Don't forget the spring.  D played pretty well most games, O couldn't get out of it's own way, at least throwing the ball. Do the same thing over and over expecting a different result???  Let's hope not!

Coach's monotone voice had me sleeping.  I think he said Crenshaw and Craycraft are still battling it out and Waid  is playing a new position.  He mentioned the two transfer wide outs along with St.surin and that CJ Charleston was going to be someone to watch.  Most of the interview was coach talk.
You're cose, the ENTIRE interview was coach talk!

In Ohio, the cause is the absurd expansion of the playoffs.  They now take 16 teams from each region. To win a state championship, you now must win six games.  If they began on Labor Day weekend, the season would stretch to the week before Christmas.
This expansion smacks of "everybody gets a trophy" syndrome.  "everybody" makes the playoffs.
