7-7 easy drive for ndsu.

Feel like the defense is going to need to score at least one today. I don't have a great deal of faith that the defense is going to force too many punts.

Yea and the offense could not move the ball on a 3rd grade all girls school after the 1st drive..

With Hess out I don't think we can keep up with NDSU if they start scoring.

Well not a score, but Peterman's interception certainly saved a touchdown.  Would be very fortunate if we can get out of here only 14-7 at halftime - going to take a few first downs though.

Would have been nice to have at least one more timeout there to try to get a touchdown, but I can't be too upset down 14-10 at the half with the backup quarterback and getting the ball to start the second half.  Going to need a good first drive to open the half (or Stubbs can feel free to run the kickoff back all the way)

My god if YSU had a QB we'd be dangerous.. #12 over throws/under throws wide open guy's #3 same plus he runs when he should throw and throws when he should run  :o

YSU is just out manned and out coached.  The kids are playing hard but NDSU is just 2 steps ahead of YSU.

I know it's not over yet but man the guys are starting to look gassed..

I wrote a song below  8)

Turn out the lights the party's over... Can't even kick a field goal.. Can't blame the defense.. because the coach get's unsportsman like conduct callssssss... leave the defense on the field for most of the game... I'll hear that #12 was hurt that's why YSU lost.. Now the D comes up with their second turnover but the uninformed will still blame the defense for all YSU's woes.. The Offense with the 3rd string QB capitalizes off the Defenses great work.. Now #7 shows off his arm and throws the ball 55 yards to a Bizooooonnnn!! Can't blame the Defense... can't blame the Defense...

It hurts to say YSU shouldn't have been on the same field today. Thoroughly out played by a team who didn't even break a sweat. For the most part, the Bison did what ever they wanted.

I'll be the first to say this.. No rose colored glasses no BS.. I'm a realist and love YSU more that anything but... "IF" YSU loses to SDSU (Please prove me wrong) I hope they are left out of the playoff's....... Sorry but losing 3 in a row to the top of the MVC anddd with the weak OOC schedule I don't believe YSU deserves in.  :'(

The team clearly lacks composure and confidence.......  There is NO calming influence and thats just the beginning of the characteristics that this TEAM lacks..........

I POSTED THIS LAST WEEKEND AND APPARENTLY IT WAS NO DIFFERENT THIS WEEKEND.......?  THE COACH ACTUALLY GOT A PERSONAL FOUL..........?

We were physically beaten on the LOS and we would not have won even with Hess. We didn't put them in a position to even have the game on the line. No boby beats them this year. That is the National Champion. In a different league.

Have you heard Wolf speak?  I highly doubt he is a genius:)  hahaha

I really did not like his "antics" on the sidelines today.  Do you think Les Miles, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, etc. carry on that much on the sidelines?  IMO He acted more like an out of control player today than a coach.   Great leadership should provide intensity, yes... but with more control than coach Wolf seems to show.

Every coach does that, c'mon now. Lack of discipline???? Wolford is the DEFINITION of discipline. That's a no nonsense guy. So Wolford gets a penalty for screaming at the ref but #6 was mugging Ruiz for a good 30 seconds and taunting the whole damn team, even the sidelines after. Guess he gets a pass tho......

Oh no, I completely understand your point.  Please, don't take that I'm questioning what that kid did.  He ABSOLUTELY deserved to be booted.  And I understood Wolford getting pissed about it, but to go on the field and do what he did.  Nope, I'm sorry....as the HC you just don't do that.

Disappointing loss today. However, I believe they are in the playoffs no matter what with 8 wins already. But -

1.  you got to see the preview of next years QB today with both backups returning. Its not going to be pretty.

2. The wheels came off on both the OL & DL, both have been major concerns of mine this year. It was ugly

3. The secondary was.................... well, awful

4. NDSU is a nice collection of athletes that are very well coached and disciplined. Bohl is on a roll.

5. It would be nice to end the season with a win ( 9 wins), but with a backup QB(?), it will be tough.

6  Attendance wasn't great, but was O.K. Many fans with free tickets. Laughable !

I hope they're in, but even Hannon had his doubts if we lose next week.  This is sad, Tressel had to be embarrassed by what he saw on the field today!  YSU was not ready defensively to play that game.  They continually let other offenses simply gash our guys on third down conversions, stupid mistakes continut to plague the team on special teams, and no discipline whatsoever.

Our coaches aren't any good because our players aren't any good.
Our fans aren't any good.

So what's the point and why should anyone support the team?

If YSU makes the playoffs, don't expect us to meet in Frisco. I truly believe in east coast bias by the committee. They will rig the bracket to  make sure that no two MVFC teams will meet there....

Last thing and I'll let the NDSU game go... Where is all this YSU team speed? Really.. We played a team that is a bunch corn feed thick guy's and all our so called athletic southern speed burners looked like they were running in lead boots :-\
Title: Re: Guins vs. NDSU - in Game Thread

Simple, Red. Our speed was on the field but couldn't get off blocks. NDS had 2 really nice RBs who cut well off blocks on the line and downfield and they may be thick , but they weren't slow. Both saw the field well and used their blockers as outstanding talent does. They were impressive but credit the blocking. It was championship grade.

BTW who heard the YSU fans, players and staff yelling "cheater" every time NDSU committed a foul? It was awesome.

That is in honor of Bison idiot radio personality that felt his opinion on coach Tressel was needed. At the end of the day, we all know he will be stuck on a local radio station, in Fargo ND the rest of his career. While Jim Tressel spent 25-years (and counting) taking 10 different teams, from two-different colleges, to a national championship game.

Irony at its worst.

I could give a ratsass about Tressel, but to keep reminding everyone of the scandal.
Smart move YSU fans.

Yes we would not want that announcer to think get too big-headed. Just a little light-hearted humor & I liked it. Took some of the sting off a of a bad game. I already said thanks to all those Bison-faithful that stood and applauded all of our hall-of-famers ...very respectable. There are just as many opinions in Ytown, about the incident, as anywhere else ...if not more. However, when a man as busy as coach Tressel stops me and asks me how my father's sight is doing (my father had eye problems) after almost 15-years ...I know what kind of man he truly is. Besides I will forget about this game after a while, but I will always remember his kind words ...along with the shocked and pleased expression on Tressell's face when the crowd erupted for him. Win or lose, that is what Penguin football is all about.

Make sure all of your fan-base know we appreciate you coming ...it is nice to get some opposing fans. Definitely the largest this year.

Webb, #20 is faster. So is #4 Stubbs, #9 Wheary, #16 Caver, & #5 Hymes. He is elusive, not to be confused  with fastest. He is elusive because he has good field vision, cuts well off of and uses his blockers well . Player for player, this is one of the fastest teams in years at YSU, position by position.

All the above has the leg strength of a 6th grade spelling bee contestant. #5 is he on the team?? Again if this is team speed I'm missing it. NDSU had O-line guys moving faster than our secondary..
