Michael Akuchie 6-8 from St Thomas Aquinas Ft Lauderdale fl is our newest verbal.  He's only about 185 lbs.  Just watched his video and he showed a good handle and someone who likes to run the floor.

Sorry to hear about Bob.   Great roll player during the Jeff Covington years.  He was always clever at stepping in front of players and taking charges.

go guin, not implying Naz has Green's ability.  Just saying his game is similar style in a smaller body.  One is an NBA all star the other was the leading scorer for Lorain HS.  I pattern my game after Kyrie Irving but most days it takes me a few minutes to stand up straight after getting out of bed.

Watched his video.  Reminds me of a smaller Draymond Green.   His game  and size is very similar to the 1st recruit Garrett Covington.  Twin DE on our B-ball team.   Can't wait for the season.

I just read the article on Naz and have not yet seen his video.  However,he has an AA degree with a 3.93 .   Not even sure how you do that while in HS.   VERY impressive.   His quote saying he's nothing without family and friends shows maturity and wisdom not usually reserved for a HS senior.  Love this kid already.

jbags,I hope you're right.   There's always an upside but you can say that about many prospects.   Last year when I saw Hartfield's video his skill level jumped out at me.  He also scored 37 points in the state semifinal vs Westerville South.

Bobby Hain's hs video showed him more of an outside shooter than a post up player like he was at YSU so you never know when a new players comes into the program.

Cam Morse only had one D1 offer so I hope Brown can develop into a legit Horizon league post player.

We really need a juco post player to go with our returning guys.  Morse,Santiago, and Hartfield are solid.  Someone like a williams or Rosic need to take their game up a level.   Our only big is Haygood  who has improved but can't stay out of foul trouble.

Not blown away buy either.   Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.   Calhoun coming in late has a uphill battle and will see how he recruits going after 2018 players.   1:30 videos are never a great judge of talent.

Anyone know what ever happened to Sydney Umude ?

The focus now turns to recruiting...after watching Fairmont on Saturday I saw inside players that attacked the glass...Calhoun has nothing here that remotely resembles that...Calhoun might have to run a few guys out of here immediately...cruel but he didn't recruit them...Morse Santiago and Hartfield are fine but the rest are questionable at best...Moss will have to come in and be better than Williams and Rosic...much much better....Calhoun must hit the ground running and bring some tough hardnosed kids in...canr wait to see what happens

You're a 100 percent correct that morse, santiago, and Hartfield are a nice returning nucleus.   Calhoun needs bigs.  Might be easier said than done.   It's recruiting at another level that YSU needs.  No excuses.

Better team won.  Respect for our guys.   Played hard but just not enough muscle on D.  Need some big guys for next year.

I'm still flying after that game.  Morse and Kaufman played great while Donlan and Hartfield struggled tonight.  Oakland had a home court advantage and got most of the calls (24 to 9 foul shot adv).

Keep on grinding !!!

Kaufman at the buzzer.

Matt Donlan played like I thought he should of played all season.   CSU ran 2 players at Morse every time he had the ball which led to an open teammate and it was usually Hartfield who played like he was all Horizon.

Kaufman played a nice game.  Would like to see the offense go into him a little more.

IAA Fan,You say it's not Slocum & Strollo fault.   Who's at fault ?   I'm asking out of lack of clarity not to be argumentative.

What steps in your opinion does the University need to make to have a competitive program?

I'm like you were I'm tired of hearing the coach and the AD suck.   I would love some clear specifics.   Seems the info on the board is very vague.

On paper the obvious was beating national runner up Butler.   To me it was beating Georgia on ESPN.   National tv and an SEC team.  An we dominated(led ) the whole game.
