General BS / Re: Richmond Suing

Based on today's standards I would of never been eligible .   I was 16 in in 1976 and with the exception of NOT fondling an intoxicated female,I did many things that would make the snowflakes of today go nuts.  I grew up and will let a higher judge then a bunch of leftists be the judge.   Hope the same goes for Richmond.

I just got home(central Florida) from my OSU/Hubbard/YSU football weekend and suprised but not shocked at the reactions relating to Hunter Wells.  He made a terrible decision on his last throw but he made a lot of great throws to bring us back.    Without Wells we're not competitive in this game.

Side note.   Heinz field = pretty women.     Bloomington Indiana = Not so much.

Ast to TO decent.  Steals are very good.   Shooting % not so good.   He looks like he can play either guard so having a D1 senior transfer to back up Morse and Santiago is a plus.   The guy who runs the 270 web site wrote on twitter that Jaylen is eligible this season.

YSU Penguin Athletics / Re: the independent years

Thanks!  That makes sense.  Historically, it seems like such a bizarre period---to be an independent Men's basketball program...it's like "why even have a season"?  There is no hope for any kind of postseason for a school of YSU's stature.
IMO, I don't think leaving OVC destroyed the YSU MBB program. The coaches between Rice and Calhoun did that!
Agreed! We joined the Hoizon league in 2001, so Slocum can't blame leaving the OVC for his failings.

We also played in the Mid-continent conference from 1992 to 2001 prior to the Horizon.

I agree the Coach Calhoun has made the program very accessible.  Nothing to hide here and it's only summer.  Great videos, twitter news, and local newspaper updates.

Coach Calhoun and his staff have been seriously busy with a ton of offers.  Not sure if previous staffs have offered this many.   Check out the link and look at all the players offered.  It's overwhelming.

Update how Penguins are doing in summer league.
Cam Morse in 3 games 20 ppg
Devin Morgan 3 games 21.3 ppg
Tyree Robinson in 3 games 17.6 ppg
Francisco Santiago in 4 games 19.5 ppg
Naz Bohannon in 3 games  17 ppg
Braun Hartfield in 4 games 14.8 ppg
Devin Haygood in 3 games 13 ppg 18 reb in one of his games.
Noe Anibar in 4 games 11.5 ppg
Geoff hamperian in 4 games  9.5 ppg
Jeremiah Ferguson in 3 games 9.3 ppg
Garrett Covington in 3 games 7.3 ppg
Michael Akuchie in 3 games  9.7 ppg
Jacob Brown in 4 games 10.3 ppg
Alex Wilborn in 1 game 10 ppg

Not much to read into these numbers.  If anyone saw these games you can see it's a lot of run & gun and some very selfish play.

Watched about 4 games with YSU players on youtube.   There's a mix of talent with small college,mid-majors and some pros who play in Europe.   Defense is optional and the games are played with very little intensity.  Like a NBA all star game.
The one YSU player that impressed me was juco transfer Noe Anabir.  Noe finished around the basket and showed a nice touch from three which I didn't expect.

Cam and Braun looked like they can get theirs when ever they wanted.

Michael Akuchie and Jacob Brown played against each other and I thought Jacob looked a little better in that game.  Akuchie struggled and seem to show some frustration.  Got to remember a couple a month ago these two were dancing at their senior prom and now they are competing against grown men.  Skill sets there but strength was an issue but will come with maturation.

Tyree Robinson was able to score around the basket and he rebounds well in traffic.  Has deceptive length and good ups.   He could be a dominant rebounder at YSU if he makes up his mind to.

These type of games are tough to evaluate but you can tell when someone is uber talented.

My only question was how did Jessie Hardin from WGH NOT get a YSU offer ????
