Waid likely end up at Ivy League or a school similar with strong academics.  As for Brungard, he is not even being recruited at YSU as QB, but as an athlete.  Likely play defense.

33, what have you seen from Crenshaw to think he can?

Good points on who is coaching up Crenshaw, and why give up on Waid so quickly.  Listened to radio show lasst night, Bob Hannon asked Phillips if he considered going with Joe Craycraft in the 4th quarter, and Phillips said no.  How could you not at least consider making a change.

When hired Phillips I said his resume did not warrant him getting this job.  He is in way over his head and so is his staff.  As for patience, give me a break.  5 years ago we were in the national title game.  We should not be losing regularly to Indiana St and Western Illinois.  I have a tremendous amount of respect For Jim Tressel as a coach and president of YSU.  But as for hiring coaches, not so much.  He made the call and overruled the committee several years ago to hire John Robic as basketball coach and Robic was a stiff.

Tressel took the money from Bob Sebo and made this hire, period.   We are a joke, may not win another game.

Incarnate Word will have a good year, they are very explosive offensively.  WIU game is a must win.  Their defense is horrendous.  Offensively they have a good QB and wide outs.

I am skeptical that Phillips can win.  But, way too early and with Phillips being Tressel's handpicked hire, he will get a lot of time.  But so far he is 2-7.  Western Illinois is a must win, the rest of the schedule is brutal.  I have serious concerns about Crenshaw's ability to throw down field.  We need to recruit a big time Qb who can make plays in the pass game.

Since last spring our pass attack is pathetic.

Winning mask many problems:  Our staff a bad night.  Big time questions about our offensive coordinator.
1. What were we doing at the end of the half.   Have the ball at our own 38 and we don't try to get into field goal range.
2. The worst of the night, QB draw down three with 39 seconds and only one timeout.  You can't run the ball in that situation, ever.
3. Scared to throw the ball down field.  Ogletree a huge target gets two catches early, then never throw to him again.

As for Crenshaw, have no idea yet if he can make plays down the field.  On the positive side, thank God we have Mclaughlin, and McFadden clutch kick to send into overtime.

Goodnews, you nailed it on the offensive line.  Since Carm Bricillo left for the Patriots the O line has declined.  Peterson and his son on staff is a joke.  Let's hope he and Phillips prove us wrong.

Wick that is pathetic that they said first team every from Texas here.  If memory serves me correct we tied Stephen F. Austin in the opener in 1994, then won the next 14!

Sports Info office at YSU and marketing should be embarrassed, but this has been going on for years.  It lays in the lap of Strollo, he allows it.

Little or no promotion for the opener.

Incarnate Word very good QB, they have skill and can score.  Defense is not good.  We should be able to run he ball all night against them.

On a side note, I hear Mark Waid is no longer looked at as a QB.  He will be a hybrid RB/TE/Wildcat look.

I was at the scrimmage as well.  Agree, Crenshaw likely starter.  I need to see much more than Saturday from him.  I would disagree with comments that Davidson is the backup, he is a D-3 kid, and that is no slam on him.  No mobility and can't play at this level.  Waid is the backup.

Until we find a real deal QB, going to struggle in this conference.  Look at ND ST, they had QB issues last year and it cost them a national title.  They only lost by a FG at eventual national champ Sam Houston State.  But from what I read they have found their QB in Quincy Patterson, a transfer from Va. Tech.

McNeese State was supposed to be 11th game, they bailed.  YSU decided to stay at 10 because of quick turnaround from spring season.  Two bye weeks in schedule.

Watched the entire game.   Too bad SDSU QB hurt on first series.   He is a freshman and so is the stud running back.   Agree on QB for Sam Houston, very tough kid and a huge competitor, impressive game winning drive.

Naz a solid player, but he will struggle to get playing time at Clemson.  They were a tournament team a year ago with many key players returning.  This is a huge jump in class from the Horizon League to the ACC.  I may be wrong, we will see, but I see him getting limited minutes.

Confirmed 10 game schedule.  No interest in adding an 11th after McNeese bailed on us.
