SDSU is also breaking ground on their new stadium at halftime of this Saturday's game. The game is sold out already, hobo day. Our boys better come ready to play!

Right on the money 05. Is not Hobo day their homecoming as well?

I remember last year that Zenner had an injury in the second half & we had even more trouble with Gandy. Then 2-years ago, we had the best of Zenner, Gandy had about 10-rushes for negative yardage, but our unsuspecting D (all in the box) was torched by the pass. I suspect that Zenner was hurt that game as well.

Gandy has since moved to 4th on the depth chart, started the season 3rd.  To my knowledge he suffered a minor injury earlier in the season, and has not regained his spot, been talk of his lack of motivation the last couple of weeks, and thats a possible reason for his decreasing role.  If ZZ doesn't get all of the carries it is likely you will see Brady Mingarelli who is a Redshirt-Freshman, averaging roughly 6 carries game and 30 yards per game.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Wick.
Any 'Guin fans making the long trip to Brookings, win or loose hobo day is always a great time.  I prefer a jacks victory though. :)

Whoever said "Statistics are for losers" was wise.  Nonetheless, if you are looking for hope going into this game, consider a few selective stats.  These are from conference games only; SDSU has played three just like us.

YSU is 2nd in scoring defense (17 pts. per game)  SDSU is last in scoring defense (33 pts. per game)

YSU is 4th in rushing offense (185 yards per game.)  SDSU is 9th in rushing defense (196 per game)

YSU is 3rd in rushing defense (130 yards per game.)  SDSU is 9th in rushing offense (120 per game) despite the presence of Zenner.

SDSU is 1st in passing offense at 275 yards per game but only rated 6th in passing efficiency.
YSU is 7th in passing offense at 198 yards per game but rated 2nd in passing efficiency.

Of course SDSU could also cite statistics that favored them.  SDSU might have also played a harder schedule with Illinois State and UNI, although I'm not sure that UNI is any better than Western Illinois this season.

Not sure where you got your information, mine could be wrong too but his is what I found.
