Western Ill game.....

Definitely a tough one to take yesterday. Not sure where to begin. Was feeling better at halftime, as we had taken the lead. But was a little disappointed how the first half ended, as we took timeouts to get the ball back before the end of the half, just to run the clock out?  Not sure. (Yet again I'm only 25, and I'm not Wolf, or the OC).  Seems like we didn't make any adjustments at halftime. They came right out and took it to us. The offense looked 100% out of sync yesterday. Ruiz and Webb have it their all as usual and did the most they could. As far as the passing game, couple drops were inexcusable, especially two of them on 3rd down and two them hit them right in the chest. Hey, on a positive note Christian Bryan was targeted once and had a big 24 yard reception down the center of the field, and Andre had a nice game as well. Flustering game to watch, and I think you guys agree. It was unfortunate the Defense couldn't make a quicker stop on that last series, but hey offense cannot disappear for quarters. Am I the only one to be flustered?

I agree...What the hell was that at the end of the half. You know they get the ball to start the half, why not try and get as many points as possible. It was obviously gonna be a tight game. Your kicker is more than capable of making a 50+ yarder, especially with the wind at his back. That was just one of the MANY disappointments of their performance last night. Really no more room for error from this point on. It's gonna be tough to say the least.

Sad part is it still came down to undisciplined mental mistakes..  3 personal fouls.... a couple procedure calls on 3rd and 1 ... off sides ...  Plus no brakes.. All the calls seemed to go for WI.  I am going to rewatch the game....

You are definitely not the only one flustered! I can promise you there are 80 football players and 10 coaches that are a lot more flustered than anyone else. Too many missed opportunities yesterday.... We are the least penalized team in the conference the last 2 years and last night we made up for that....too many personal fouls, ejections etc. Although, the first ejection was ridiculous... it was a clean hit! We had pick six early that bounces off our guy's hand and pops into their receiver's hand and they scored a TD instead. Big drops on  third down and false starts on 3rd and short killed us. W Illinois' last possession - our defense caused a fumble and it was ruled incomplete... watch it again.... he caught the ball, took two steps and fumbled with us recovering. That gives us the ball on their 35 with 5 minutes to go instead of our own 7 with 45 seconds left. And what I thought was the biggest mistake was when our guys released to play for the return on the fake punt. We just can't make mental mistakes like that and win against good teams. This team has the talent...they will work hard to get things corrected in practice this week and will be out there next Saturday busting their asses to get a

We were. Webb had to get out of bounds and he failed to do so. It was a smart call to cut our losses after that.
