Basketball Recruit Highlights
« on: January 22, 2014, 11:19:38 PM »
Just figured I'd post this.... One of our 3 basketball commits for next year, Ja'Christian Biles from Oak Park, MI. 6-2 SG.... Here are some highlights of him playing in the MLK Classic in Toldeo. Nice find for Slocum! Kid can play.

Good video 05---Biles was somewhat of a late bloomer who was basically under-recruited and we pounced on him. Coach Hall was instrumental in his recruitment with Slocum. He's a very important recruit as it's hoped he'll fill some of KP's minutes next year. His development this season will go a long way in determining what we do with the one scholarship we have left.

Yep, Steve Hall has done a great job recruiting up in his hometown Detroit. Biles, Plummer and Beamon will fight it out for the starting job next year.

Seems to get a lot of air for a kid that is only 6'2". Like IP says, let's see how he develops. What KP has is air & body control. I listen to all of the games on the opponents station & the announcers all say the same thing ...vision and control for KP is the best they have seen in a mid-major player.

Film actually doesn't show much. He can dunk and maybe shoot some with little pressure on him, but no clue on real abilities , d skills, ball handling, dribble drive vs. full D and playing inside a structured O. Can't say the competition looked like much either.  Time will tell.
