It begins: Football roster is up

The updated roster is now posted on the university web site.  At first glance, I do not see any notable subtractions.  The whole season revolves around this question.  After expending so much time, effort, and resources, can Wofford fix the defense in general, and the pass rush in particular?

I think there are two other equally important questions: 1) Can a relatively inexperienced, yet big, offensive line keep Hess healthy because if Hess goes down, there will be about 1000 people present at the last home game of a 4-7 team, and 2) who's going to gain all of those yards, and tough yards on 3rd and short, with Cook graduated?

Hopefully the JUCO D line guys can come in and make a difference. I think Hymes will do pretty well in the backfield. Him and Bellamy (If healthy) can be a good 1-2 punch.

When kids leave, they leave because they know they aren't wanted. When they dont pan out in the coaches eyes, coaches at this level just make it unbearable for them in every way, every day ....making life miserable, so they leave and free-up a spot/scholly.

That happens in every program. Every now and then a kid will quit because he misses home or his girlfriend, but that's maybe 10%. Another 20% grade issues. The rest get chased out.

This week they have doubles. Practice at 9am and 5pm. Scrimmage this Saturday is closed to the public. Only family members allowed.... Team seems to be doing well
