Former Youngstown State offensive guard Lamar Mady has agreed to terms to sign an undrafted free-agent contract with the Oakland Raiders.
Mady joins former Penguin and current Raiders safety Brandian Ross as members of the squad.
Mady, an honorable-mention All-MVFC selection in 2012, had a strong postseason appearing at the NFL Combine in February after having a noteworthy performance at the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Game.
A two-year starter for the Penguins at right guard, he played a key role in YSU having a quarterback (Kurt Hess) pass for more than 2,000 yards and running back (Jamaine Cook) rush for more than 1,000 yards in each of the past two seasons. In 2012, the offensive line yielded just eight sacks, a school record for fewest allowed in a campaign.
A native of Topeka, Kan., he spent two years at Butler County Community College before joining the program in January 2011.
