Former Youngstown State offensive lineman Lamar Mady (Topeka, Kan.) has been selected to play in the Texas vs. The Nation Game on Feb. 2, at Eagle Stadium in Allen, Texas.
Mady is one of two former Penguins who were selected to play in postseason All-Star Games following the conclusion of the 2012 campaign. Former tight end Will Shaw played in the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game on Jan. 11.
Mady is also the second Penguin to be invited to the Texas vs. The Nation Game joining Donald Jones (2010).
In 2012, Mady was an honorable-mention All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection. He started all 11 games at left guard for the Penguins and started all 22 games of his career at the position. YSU led the MVFC in total offense for all games averaging 385.6 per contest. The offensive line surrendered just eight sacks for the entire season, a school record for fewest sacks allowed in a campaign. The Guins averaged 198.8 yards passing and 186.8 yards per contest.
