In-Game Valpo
« on: January 30, 2013, 09:01:22 PM »
Worst officiating and worst announcing ever. Does this conference know we exist? Cannot even undertsand the moron rambling on about their trip to Chicago & what a great team Valpo is. This is a home game IN YOUNGSTOWN. At least talk about us!!

Just read a valpo message board thread, what a bunch of pompous hayseeds! They show no respect at all, seems our gym is a dump, refs were on our side, big reason they lost was their poor 3-point and ft shooting (dah) but of course our players had nothing to do with it, yadda yadda yadda.

Hey hayseeds, tonight 1-30-13 YSU was the better team, simple as that.

Nice game guins!

If officials had the guts to call every hand check, every hold, every intentional bump that Valpo specializes in, their opponents would shoot fifty free throws each game.  Perry was fouled at least twenty-five times with about seven actually being called.  What a joke.  Speaking of jokes, what kind of basketball team would Valpo have if they were required to recruit American citizens exclusively?

I think Valpo sometimes forgets what league they play in, and how tough this league really is top to bottom night and night out.

One positive about the officials was that it brought the crowd to life. We also need to credit Slocum ...good in-game coaching last night.

I agree that the officiating was absolutely horrible! I watch a lot of basketball. Hand checking is permitted as long as it does not impede the progress of the offensive player. That was not the case last night. It was constantly utilized on our perimeter players and very seldom called. If refs don't call it it will be continued to be used.
Btw having a Valpo fan call our place a dump is a little like a person living in a glass house throwing stones. Have
you ever seen their place . Speaking of dumps!
