Missy Hundelt Named Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week
« on: October 24, 2012, 08:45:13 AM »
Youngstown State junior right-side hitter Missy Hundelt has been named the Horizon league Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the period of Oct. 15-21, the conference office announced today.

Hundelt, a native of St. Louis, Mo., posted two double-doubles and scored more than 20 points in both of YSU's matches last week. She posted 19 kills, 20 digs and five blocks in the Penguins' five-set loss to Green Bay. Hundelt then helped YSU respond with a four-set victory over Milwaukee by registering 17 kills, 13 digs, three blocks and two aces. Her 17 kills against the Panthers came on a .438 hitting percentage.

Hundelt was also the Horizon League's Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 17. She is the first YSU player to earn player-of-the-week honors twice in the same season since the Penguins joined the conference in 2001.

Hundelt's 3.33 kills per set ranks fifth in the Horizon League, and she is also averaging 2.94 digs and 0.57 blocks. Her .249 attack percentage is 81 points better than her percentage as a sophomore.

Hundelt and the Penguins will play at Loyola and UIC this weekend.
