TELEVISING YSU vs PITT GAME
« on: August 16, 2012, 07:57:15 PM »
Much discussion is about of the televising of the game.
First....ESPN3TV....is on the internet, understand that first.
When you go to the sight it will tell you to select your
PROVIDER.  If you are ARMSTRONG...forget it, you are
done.  Time Warner is a PROVIDER.  Want to complain
to ARMSTRONG....do it now 330-758-6411, don't wait
till Sept. 1st.

Pita, dear, Armstrong and Time Warner will only carry it if it's picked up by a local station. If you want to complain to someone, call WFMJ, WKBN, or WYTV. Better yet, re-live those "road warrior" days and take the short trip to Pitt. If not, listen to Hannon and Muransky and root like he11!!

IP,

You are correct about 99% of the time, but you missed on this one.  The local stations are blameless because ESPN does not allow them to access their ESPN3 feed (which is internet only.)  Only way to watch on the internet for free is if a carrier has a deal with ESPN.  Apparently, Time-Warner does but Armstrong does not, as Pita noted.  This will impact YSU fans negatively on two more road games this fall (SDSU and Western Illinois.)  The road games at NDSU and Illinois State are league productions that local stations should be free to pick up.

How about just go to the game? It's in Pittsburgh, less than an hour away and tickets are cheap. GO GUINS

Our best chance of beating a "BCS" team since we started playing these guys in 2005.

if you search hard enough on game day, you will find a website the government has not shut down yet that will have the feed to the game.

Whatever the  TV thing is...if I'm wrong, I apologize. But bottom line is Penguin fans should make the short trip. I will.

Any one hear of any taverns or sports bars "televising" the game by running the signal from their router to one of their TV's ? I've attempted using my computer at home to watch espn3 before, but it s so old and slooooow that it freezes constantly and is  painful to watch. I was thinking that the signal isn't pay per view, so there would be no legal hassle, if it was possible anyway. If not, I guess I'll have to find the time to  make the trip to pitt. Not that I don't want too but time is a factor for me next saturday. Anyway thanks for putting up with this long winded FIRST post! :)

agree with you 15 ...AT&T cable (if available) has ESPN3 (the channel) as part of their regular line-up. I just switched last weekend. Installation in 2-days. Although I am still going to the game.

I will be watching the game from North Carolina on espn3.com; since I was just up there twice in July for a wedding and then an anniversary.

You can get the game free if you have Time Warner roadrunner. I believe YSU will give Pitt a super game and turn overs will probably be the deciding factor.

My guess Pitt will pull it out in the last quarter. Pitt 24  YSU 21

Go Penguins!! And those going enjoy the game.  :)
