Youngstown State senior first baseman Jeremy Banks has been named the Central Region Player of the Week by CollegeBaseballInsider.com, the website announced on March 14.
Banks, who is also the Horizon League Batter of the Week, hit .545 with two doubles, three home runs and eight RBIs in a three-game series at VMI over the weekend. He drew three walks and was hit by a pitch to post an on-base percentage of .667. In Sunday's 10-2 win over the Keydets, Banks hit a solo homer in the first inning and a go-ahead three-run round tripper in the eighth.
