No it doesnt
a great offense in this day in age always beats great defenses, especially when the basic D packages have been around for decades apon decades apon decades, while the offense is always changing which is why teams score more and more points as time goes on

Great Offense=Championship
Great D=Championship Contender, but will get dominated vs a top notch Offense

You must be really young.

Here is the deal.  Go look up every team that has won a National Championship and find out how thier Defense compares to all other teams on a national stage for each year and you will see that defense wins championships.  IF you stop someone from scoring points, you will most likely win the game, you can still score on defense and special teams.   The offense cannot defendthe goal and cannot score without being on the field.  Every great offensive team can be beaten with a great defense.  The only thing the offense can do is allow the defense to rest, which is important, but the defense can become the offense when it scores.

Very good PP  ;D

Also, I feel a offense can be too good for its own good.  Scoring to fast sends a defense back out on the field before it can be rested.  I've been on both sides of the ball and defense is more physical and needs more recovery time.  fb

Wick250:
Just look at our four national championships.  Everybody talks about our improbable fourth quarter comeback against Marshall in 1991, but that was only possible because our defense had kept it close by containing Marshall's prolific offense.  In 1993, we gave up 5 points to Marshall in Huntington.  In 1994, we held Boise's high-powered offense to 14, the last 7 in garbage time.  We won the 1997 championship over McNeese 10-9.  We are all enjoying this high scoring offense, but we don't become serious players on the upper rung of FCS until we rebuild that defense.
