I listened to it for the last 15 minutes. Coach indicated that NCAA had reduced maximum number of players to 109. YSU has typically 129 players. He said he has to reduce players. Many of them will not be back because of the reduction.
He also talked about nil $$. He said that this worse than nfl since ncaa does not have salary cap as in nfl. He said he is getting couple WR in December and they will be able to practice in next spring.

Like him or not, he does hold himself accountable for the program. Wonder how the reduced number of roster spots may affect us, if at all.

So Phillips had 129 players; too bad 100 of them could not play at this level. This might force him to stop this "developmental" nonsense and find more real DI football players.

And there will be a large menu of discarded FBS football players that are seeking new homes. Columnists have suggested that most big time schools must release between 20-30 players to meet the new roster limits. How many of these marginal FBS players can actually help a FCS program is unknown.
