I think we always have had the ambitions, but we just didn’t have the resources ($$$).

That is purely a speculative tweet from a fan of the conference. Do not read anything into it. They don't have any interest.

I can’t pull the tweet.  We can barely afford playing in the conferences we are in.  Our asst coaches make enough to qualify for food stamps.  We need millions and millions to even get into the MAC
