I hate these games but I guess that they are a fact of life. I wonder how much we will make from this game. It might be enough to nearly pay for replacing the seats in the gym.

As of now, that's the ONLY non-conference game on the schedule.  Probably will have to use some of the $$$ to buy a HOME game.  Considering the current conditions YSU needs all the money they can get.

Fantastic news.

These high profile games must help recruiting of both student-athletes and enrollment in general, expand the fanbase, as well as add revenue for the athletic department.

Each OOC schedule should have one P5 $$$ game, one G5 $ game (preferably Ohio MAC), and one home red meat game (such as a Butler  :D ). A four game OOC schedule should have 2 P5 games.

When we had the Wolf, a legit FCS HC, we beat Pitt, were beating Penn St in his first game as HC, and were beating Sparty in Q3 until the butt punt. I still talk about that Pitt game. These games are opportunities to elevate the University and program on so many levels.

I'll add that with the watering down of the conference schedule with the addition of the hapless, underachieving doormat referred to as Murray St....we can tolerate, and frankly need, an upgraded OOC SOS.

Agree with everything stated here, only comment I have is the butt punt was against Illinois (which we led that game until the 4th quarter).

Guys, we will not even score. Pitt was an awful team. This is a perennial superpower, they will not need a half to adjust. Make sure everyone plays hope for many more money game scores on ESPN so we can bury the score.

Not happy about the game, but interested to see how much we will get.

Be Happy!  YSU Football needs all the help they can get with recruiting both players and coaches.

Losing 63-0 and being mocked by the Ohio sports media will repel recruits and drive away casual fans.  It was far better in the 1990s when thousands of fans in the Mahoning Valley believed that we could play with OSU.  They were delusional, but their faulty perception was actually helpful to the program.  Nothing good can come out of this game except the money.  And there better be a lot of money!

I agree Wick and guinpen. Too many casual YSU fans that will say "See I told you so". We are going to hurt the fan base with this one. Although this will not be as bad as the first two games vs. OSU, as we will not be dictated to this time. Back then, Heacock did whatever Tressel/OSU told him to do. Tressel actually used us to test his team out; there were designed plays and "vanilla" O & D. Now this kind of money and game is common, we can actually prepare and play.  I still don't see us doing anything though.
