Thoughts on NIL signees today?

Tay'Shawn Trent from Harper Woods HS looks like a nice pick up - WR.

Need OL though!!  Hopefully that has been a priority with returning lineman and some early additions in December.

Tay'Shawn is a 4 Star - pretty excited about him.
Joey Farthing out of Dover could be real solid... he is the reigning D1 high jump champ.

I'm trying to process the numbers.

December 15 YSU brings in 24

January 20  Mid - year additions = 12 more

Febuary 2   13 additions

49 new players ?  That sound absurd.  Am I missing something ?

Update.   Perhaps a percentage are walk ons.

Very diverse group. Lots of old schools. The Julius brothers look very interesting out of Fork Union. That was a very fertile late Tressel and regular Heacock recruiting school; very good recruits usually. Trent looks very interesting, almost too big of a resume for YSU. Several pipeline picks, most are seniors.

As always, coaching will dictate the success of the class.  Let's hope the staff   can get get the recruits to play above their current abilities.

Joey Farthing out of Dover could be real solid... he is the reigning D1 high jump champ.

I read several articles on the internet on Tay’Shawn. Reporting out of Michigan indicted that he decommissioned verbal commitment from Michigan in Oct., 2021. It was rumored to be due to his grades as well as being asked to play defensive. Apparently, he wanted to play WR.

I don’t know if there are any truth to this. But, he is a good find for us if he stays. We need a good QB to pass him the ball.
