SIEU 69 YSU 66
« on: November 20, 2021, 04:33:22 PM »
Buzzer beater from 35 ft.   Life with out Garrett Covington who may be out for the season with an achillies injury.

YSU led the whole game but did not handle the 3 quarter press that SIUE used.   18 turnovers by YSU but give SIEU credit with their length.  YSU cold from three going 5 of 17 while SIEU was 9 of 19 and they were supposedly not a good 3 pt shooting team.   That was one of the games YSU needed to win on their home court.

Calhoun is a below average coach and many of his players are "basketball stupid." If you doubt that statement, waste two hours of your life and watch the replay as I just did. Good thing some idiot decided to play this game opposite the televised football game. It appeared on tv that only a few hundred were in the gym and actually had to watch this disaster.

Bad loss, inexcusable loss.  Pretty much handed SIU that win and after controlling nearly the entire game.  Felt like the press in the 2nd half really disrupted YSU's offense and couldn't get in any flow.  Gave away some points at the FT line, Mayes seems to be off this year as he used to be nearly automatic.  A lot of bad turnovers as well.  Was hoping to just get out of there with an ugly win but instead it's a bad loss.
