Basketball Falls to No. 5 Louisville, 78-55

Louisville, Ky. -- The Youngstown State men's basketball team dropped a 78-55 decision to No. 5 Louisville on Sunday afternoon at the KFC YUM! Center.

The Penguins fall to 1-1 while the Cardinals improve to 2-0.

Leading Youngstown State was junior Naz Bohannon with 14 points and eight rebounds while sophomore Darius Quisenberry finished with 11 points and senior Devin Morgan had 10.

Pacing the Cardinals was Steven Enoch with 17 points and 14 rebounds and Darius Perry with 10 points and 12 assists. Jordan Nwora had a team-high 21 points and  Ryan McMahon added 16 points.

Louisville shot 50.8 percent from the field and made while the Penguins converted just 31.3 percent from the floor.

The Cardinals jumped out quickly connecting on their first six field-goal attempts and scoring 14 of the first 17 points of the game.

Louisville led by as many as 17, 38-21, with 3:58 left before halftime. The Penguins used a 10-0 run to close out the half and slice the deficit to seven 38-31 at the intermission. Bohannon and junior Garrett Covington each made layups and Quisenberry knocked down a pair of 3-pointers, the second one at the buzzer, to get YSU within seven.

The Cardinals extended their lead to 15, 51-36, just five minutes into the second half and led by as many as 24.

Youngstown State visits Louisiana-Lafayette, Friday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m. in the CajunDome.
