Indianapolis, Ind. -- Youngstown State senior Lexi Zappitelli was named to the 2019 Horizon League Softball All-Academic Team after a vote of the Horizon League Faculty Athletic Representatives, the league announced.
Zappitelli, an outfielder from Conneaut, Ohio, was named all-Horizon League First-Team in 2018 after batting .413 with 30 runs scored, 22 RBIs, 13 doubles, three triples and two home runs. She is also a five-time member of the Horizon League Honor Roll.
Zappitelli has a career batting average of .339 and is batting .322 against Horizon League opponents this season.
This is the sixth straight season at Youngstown State player has been named to the academic all-league team, and Zappitelli is the sixth different player since 2014 to be placed on the team.
