Bowling Ranks 24th in Final NTCA Top 25 Poll
« on: April 29, 2019, 01:49:09 PM »
The Youngstown State bowling team was ranked 24th in the final National Tenpin Coaches Association Top 25 Poll for the 2018-19 season.

The Penguins were ranked in each of the final four polls of the season, and they have received votes in every poll since November 2016. The No. 24 ranking is the highest at the end of a season in the program's three years of intercollegiate competition.

Youngstown State received votes in the polls released in the preseason and in December, and it made its first top-25 appearance at No. 25 in February. That was the program's first top-25 ranking since the 2017-18 preseason poll. The Penguins then moved up a spot to 24th in the March poll, and that's where they remained for the April and final releases.

Youngstown State is slated to return four of its top six bowlers in terms of team game average in 2019-20.
