Coaching Changes
« on: February 06, 2019, 10:53:01 AM »
Not sure if it's been reported on here but Ron Stoops has retired from coaching so someone new will be stepping into the Special Teams job.

Also, Bo said today that Carl will not be the official D-Coordinator but will be his right hand man for the defense, whatever that means.

Who knows? Might be the DC position has been promised/given to someone else. If Carl is Bo's right hand man on D, Carl will be overseeing the DC or "first among equal"

Bo also said special teams will be taken over by McKissic-Luke and helped by other coaches.

Sound like so much "coach speak" to me. Best guess is it is necessary to protect contractual income for Carl, with severance package from  BGSU stipulating no DC for some number of years.

John Peterson will be the new O-Line coach. Was previously O-Line coach at Pitt.

Played at Ohio State with Bo and coached there for years under JT.

Also heard we may be losing another assistant so stay tuned....

Looks like the "good ol' boy" network is functioning nicely.  Looks like good resumes for both the new guys coming in.
I was hoping for, but still haven't seen any JUCO guys to help on the OL.  If we get ANY injuries up front and we are going to be in deep do-do.  No matter how good a coach Peterson is, if he has nobody to coach, he is going to fail.

So... did Bo’s contract ever get finalized?

Yes, a 3 year deal.
