Two-time All-American Chad Zallow will compete at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 60m hurdles as the NCAA announced the qualifiers for the 2018 meet in College Station, Texas on Tuesday evening.

Zallow's top time of 7.65 seconds set back in December ranks as the fourth-fastest qualifying effort entering the March 9 semifinals. The two races are set for 7:55 p.m. Eastern time at Texas A&M's Gilliam Indoor Stadium. The top two from each heat, and next four fastest times move on to the finals on March 10.

Last year in College Station, Zallow ran a time of 7.72 seconds to place third and earn first-team All-American accolades. As a freshman in 2016, he finished ninth and was a second-team All-American.

He also won the 60m dash, 60 hurdles and 200m dash at the Horizon league championship this past weekend. Legitimately the best track athlete to ever go to YSU, pretty exciting!

Oh, I don't think there is any question he is #1 all-time track star at YSU.

I would agree in the sprint events (Short and Middle). For Field Events let's not forget that Bobby Grace finished 3rd in the NCAA National T&F Championships just a few years ago (Shot-put). Our dominance in the indoor season has been just great. We host the Horizon League event whenever another school does not have the facilities, which is just about all of the time anymore. WATTS has really been such a huge asset to the campus. I would add Kurt Michaelis in distance events; he has won more conference championships than anyone else. I think a total of 13, if you include his senior year when he ran cross-country. He made the national prelims in Steeple, but did not make the final.

Kudos to Mr. Gorby for running one of the best track programs in the nation.
