Of course it doesn't hurt.  Don't think the respect in the coaching community for Jarrod doesn't go down to high school and HS coaches giving advise to players in the recruiting process.
But just wait until the Strollo crowd starts crowing about the great job he did lining this up.  It will be funny to read.   Good grief, they gave Strollo credit for the WATTS, like JT didn't even exist.  Hilarious!

Scheduling is as scheduling does. It is obviously the AD's job, but everyone knows he has a team that would include other AD's and coaches. You also ignore the fact that much of this came from our current football relationship with WVu, which developed into series of many other YSU vs. WVu meeting isn several other sports including baseball, softball, swimming and I hear more. Also, if you want to pass out credit for WATTS (outside of in-laws dollar$) John Heacock was more instrumental in the creation of WATTS (than JT) & Strollo does deserve all the credit in the world. Just because you like or dislike someone, do not discredit them. Everything from site selection to finished product is byproduct of Strollo efforts.

Nice try 1AA, but you are wasting your time using logic, reason and facts. Some folks have their minds made up and will never change.

Lol what facts ???? Some people just aren't tuned into the program as close as they think.

ytownchief22 I told you it would be funny reading their crap about the God known as Strollo.
You will notice they skipped the quip about sending the National Championship tickets to JMU!  Let's see who they try to blame that on.

Does anybody know why he was hesitant about the game being off campus.

Most of the students do not attend MBB games now. They can get in for free and all they have to do is to walk a block or have a short drive to the games with free parking. IMO, Do you really think they would attend the game if they have to drive to Covelli and pay the parking fee?

However, if students do not come, they can sell tickets to the paying customers. Parking will also generate $ from parking. Is that the strategy behind playing the game in Covelli? How much does YSU have to pay for the use of the Covelli Center?

go guins:
If you listen to the coach's press conference  following the Franciscan game (link shown above) , he said "our student section is a work in progress"  IE, coach speak for "they don't attend"  Nothing to lose with moving the game with no student attendance.  YSU could run buses at NC for students the way Pitt does for football if any interest.
I'm sure Huggins isn't totally magnanimous with is friend Jarrod.  He wants a big community event in the only significant venue available to raise WVU awareness in the area to help recruit local talent.  Covelli is also easier for a first time YSU attendee because the parking is right there and you don't need to "understand the system" as you must do with on campus BB games.  I think this is a good idea, that's why I know it was Calhoun's and not Strollo's.  :o
