I think it is a more socialist mentality (the dependence on others) but the ironic thing is that they tend to support individual success. For an older person like me it can be confusing, but if you get into the detail they simply need true leadership which is lacking in their generation. Sometimes it is just vocal leadership....most communicate via text. Think about that. Texting and messaging and social media is the primary form of communication and they live in a world where they get what they want almost immediately. Instant gratification and no patience. You don't win a few close games.......it isn't worth the effort and no one to lead them out of it within the team.

some reasonable information here, BUT this is a football team. They practice together, face to face, every day. They lift together, face to face, every day. They shower together every day (I'll skip the face to face part in the shower) They have small groups of players, by position, with specialized coaches. This is NOT a text only situation. Secondly, close loses or whatever, last Saturday was a playoff game and they were NOT ready. Something other than text dependancy is the issue.

I want to support the Penguins win or lose but would like to see some fire and effort. They got punched in the mouth last week and took it with out fighting back. We all realize the injuries. As Urban says" next man up grab a rifle and go ". The team seems like they quit on themselves(hope i'm wrong) it's hard for the fan base to care if they don't see the team showing the proper character.

My point was not about texting. Please don't think so linearly. my point was about leadership within and possible causes for the changes.
