Zallow Sets National Record

(1/3) > >>

IAA Fan:
Youngstown State sophomore Chad Zallow ran an impressive time of 7.61 seconds to win the 60m hurdles at the Armory National Track Invitational in New York City on Saturday afternoon.

Zallow's time took first against a strong field by 0.25 seconds as he ran away with the victory.

In the process, he lowered his own school record in the event which was 7.69 seconds.

The time sets a USATF Under-19 record in the 42-inch (106.7 cm) hurdles. Zallow broke the long-standing mark in the event that was held by Robert Gaines (Jan. 31, 1976) and Jason Richardson (March 12, 2005).

He now has the fastest time in the NCAA in the event, moving ahead of Florida's Grant Holloway who ran a 7.63 second time on Jan. 7.

GREAT JOB, Chad!

Track and Field is consistently our best program by a long stretch. This is a great accomplishment.

While true recently, we don't have that much of a track history.  It seems to me we picked up in track as the football program wained in the post Tressel years.

ysuguins4:
