IAA Fan:
It does seem that several of the MVFC teams have indoor facilities, kind of a "keeping up with the Jones'" mentality. YSU's distinguishes itself a bit unique in that is has a regulation sized football field & building height. Track & Field is big at YSU & the biggest use of the facility. WATTS is used by all sports and has things like a regulation track & field setup (with pits, pads and such, they collapse underground), batting and pitching nets/walls for baseball, driving range height with nets/walls and putting greens.

YSU has some of the same issues as Thorpe. What we have is an off campus facility for Tennis and baseball Like many schools we share the cost with local businesses and teams. For example our baseball park is co-owned by the Cleveland Indians and is one of their minor League parks, along with the new experimental football league. Tennis facility is co-owned by a group of tennis pros while we allow them use of our on-campus outdoor courts. Golf shares with one of the local courses. Cross-Country uses that same golf course as their home.

We are a somewhat depressed area and have limited funds. So we rent the facilities (even our stadium) to local colleges and high-schools. It works out well. We have strong local baseball and softball, so their are a coupld of multi-field facilities in the area that we use for tournament play. There are also a few universities close by. It is a nice sports area and very cooperative.

go guins:
At least YSU, NDSU SDSU South Dakota, Northern Iowa have indoor football facilities. I do not claim this is complete, but at least 5 have indoor facalities.
