Jayson Gobble, a 2016 Stow High School graduate, has committed to play football at Youngstown State University.
Gobble received a partial scholarship from YSU and said he is excited to line up as a running back for Penguins coach Bo Pelini.
“This is a great opportunity, and hopefully I will be able to make something of it,” Gobble said. “Right now, it is a learning process for me because I came in so late. It was pretty crazy. I was about to go to Akron and maybe walk on there, but then the running back coach [Nic McKissic-Luke] at Youngstown State gave me a call and said he wanted me to come down for a visit and I ended up committing from there.”
Gobble, 18, said he plans to major in engineering after posting a 3.6 grade-point average at Stow.

IAA Fan:
Trying to get the link Power, but you cannot read the Beacon-Journal anymore ...too much advertising for a site with limited speed. ohio.com is their site. Traditionally really nice Ohio sports coverage.
