WR Transfer
« on: June 27, 2016, 10:39:36 AM »
Alvin Bailey, a WR from the University of Florida is transferring to YSU.

5-11 speedster. Caught 3 passes this year in limited action. Guessing he will have 2 years of eligibility.

Florida "re-ranking" the FL recruting class:

WR Alvin Bailey, 4-star (91): Bailey just has never done anything to jump off the page as a play-maker, making you wonder what might have happened had the Florida staff really held firm to making him work out for them in person to earn his offer. He still has a chance with two years to play and has flashed here and there, but the Gators also have a lot of new talent coming in at receiver.

Luke's Updated Grade: 82
Thomas' Updated Grade: 87

Frankly this is good news for YSU, in that it isn't trouble on or off the field.  87-82 for D-1 FL, down from **** 91 may not be exactly what they want, but those are big numbers for us.  We need big time KR after Stubbs to boot.  Good signing.

If this kid or the juco from California can stretch the defenses, it will open up an entire new dimension for our passing game.  Many posters had noted the deficiency in this position after the spring, and now Pelini has done something about it.  And I suspect that our quarterbacks are not displeased with this news.

He will fit in perfectly. Speedster that can play in the slot, as well as outside, maybe return some kicks.

Also hearing we may be getting a FBS DB transfer. Will know for sure later tonight. Bo making things happen.

Well they said that Sousa was the better receiver and he left Florida and went to SIU. However, Sousa saw zero reps last year, where Baily saw action in (from what I can see) 4-games. I think we made the better pick-up.

I am hearing Justin Thomas DE/DL from Auburn. Are you hearing anything about this Chief or anyone? IF so, this is a huge pick-up.

Alvin Bailey could be the right man to help our Q backs, sounds like he has great speed. I hope he can separate himself from the defense and catch the ball.

Beyond the transfer to Northwest Mississippi Community College?
No, but I seriously doubt there is more coming.  Sounds like grades could be a factor.
