Orlando, Fla. - The Youngstown State men's cross country team earned a win at the Disney World Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning.

The men had three top-10 finishes starting with Senior Austin McLean to place second in the 8k event to lead the Penguins with a time of 24:43.20. Sophomore Alan Burns finished ninth to clock a time of 25:28.10, and Sophomore Ryan Sullivan took 10th to post a time of 25:28.60.

Other finishers for the men included Ethan Wilson to take 13th with a time of 25:44.60, Jon Hutnyan finished 22nd with a time of 25:58.80, Mike Navratil took 29th to post a time of 26:16.10 and Aaron Benka placed 37th with a time of 26:37.00. James Nedrich finished with a time of 27:01.80 to take 55th, Michael Dahmen placed 58th with a time of 27:04.70, and Derek Morrison finished 134th with a time of 28:42.00.

The men raced against 256 runners out of 25 teams, to beat distance-power schools like Malone and Florida Atlantic.

The YSU women's cross country team placed sixth out of 35 teams as Junior McKinsie Klim lead the Penguins by placing 13th with a time of 18:40.30.

Other finishers for the women included Melissa Klim to take 21st with a time of 18:55.60, Jennifer Muhlenkamp placed 38th with a time of 19:15.60, Lizzy Rogenski finished 52nd to post a time of 19:35.30, and Morgan Ansell took 82nd to clock a time of 20:17.50. Suzanne Koziol finished with a time of 20:48.80 placing 102nd, and Erin Pavick finished 148th with a time of 21:40.60.

The women competed against over 300 runners to beat out teams such as Cleveland State, Georgia Southern, and Florida Atlantic.

The Penguins return to action on Oct. 17 at the Penn State National Invitational.
