What do you think is meant by personal issues? Death in family?

YO, if it was a death I would think they would have said that. "we will handle internally" says a lot. Hope its resolved and he is well!

Football is the last place Strickland needs to be.  Personal issue.  That's all that needs to be said.  Wish the kid well.

Well, whatever the personal issue is, I hope he manages to get through it just fine.

Isn't there another player missing from the team ?  I know the reason for Stickland being gone and wish the best for him.
