They were actual lucky that they did not get him. He probably would have moved them down to 1AA and played YSU. That would reduce expediture and increase revenue.

 I think there is a good chance Kasich will be the Rep. nominee for President, at least VP and that being said, following the 2002 National Championship, I have no doubt Tressel would have beaten Strickland for the governor’s race in 2006.  At this point we could have been talking about PRESIDENT TRESSEL in a totally different context!!

Honestly I don't see him back on the sideline ever.  Played for 9 national championships, winning 5 doesn't leave much to prove.
He could win a senate seat, but I agree a much better governor/administrator.  Remember Marlon Brando, “Senator Corleone, Governor Corleone”

HC's work ridiculous hours.  JT said in a halftime radio interview last year that he was working very long hours as University President.  I'm not sure how sustainable that is, and let's face it, being a US Senator or Governor is easy...not just compared to a Prez or HC but nearly any job....

I think when Kasich is out....he's in.

I'll leave this here.  IMO there's a 60/40 likelihood that Tressel runs for Governor in 2018, and Kasich will return the favor and endorse him.  It'll be an interesting race as other locals (Timmy Ryan, Jay Williams) may also run, as well as former Cincy mayor Jerry Springer.  But running as a Dem?....the columnist is delusional.
