Wish brown would have stayed. Great coach, great principles.

Agreed.  And regardless of what Bo says, he wins here and in 3 years he gets a call from a SEC school, it would be nice to have an assistant head coach to step up, but what ya gonna do?

I know this could just be "coach talk," but here is what the Vindicator is saying:

"Penguins coach Bo Pelini called reports that running backs coach Ron Brown is leaving YSU to take the wide receivers job at Liberty “way premature.”  "Not that it’s out of the question, but he hasn’t taken a job at Liberty,” Pelini said. "

Did a quick search and most of what I see on this is out of Nebraska and they are mostly sour grapes on anything related to Pelini or Brown.  Only Youngstown story that showed up was this blog!!
Sounds like they may be having $$$ issues getting Brown signed, but Bo sounds like losing him wouldn't be a big surprise at this point.  Got a couple months to resolve at this point.

Wonder if Bo can get somebody this late to come aboard?

The good thing is that the running backs are a talented and veteran group, and obviously the system is the same under Montgomery.  This seems like a good spot to hire an ambitious young coach who wants to make his mark in the profession.

The lefties on campus caused this one, it is quite clear. Sensitivity training because someone is against gay marriage. Give me a break. We are ALL entitled to our opinions and I am sure many people across our area share his stance, to a less extreme level.

This isn't meant in direct reference to Ron Brown, because I don't consider him to be a bigot, but if you claim to be "all inclusive" shouldn't bigots, racists, homophobes etc. be included?  Either you are inclusive or you’re not.  This “politically correct” crowd running most of our institutions is perhaps the most bigoted and certainly hypocritical groups going.

We lost an excellent coach in Ron Brown, he would have added to our running backs strength. I am sorry to see him go. I am sure he will be a credit to Liberty University; he will serve as running back coach and assistant head coach which will be mean more money.

Now we must get a running back coach prior to summer camp. I hope we can pull a good one out of the hat.
